Rest In Peace Flower

My assistant puppy raiser, Flower, passed away on Wednesday. She was 2 1/2 years old, very old for a rat. She had grown uncomfortable and had lost her sense of balance, unable to walk straight or figure out how to get to her water bottle. She was very cute. Her job was to teach my dogs to be kind to small creatures and also to be entertaining to me. I bought her on my birthday, after losing my last rat, Chaos, that morning. She helped to raise Lacey, Sunke, Belle, and Genevieve. She will be missed. In the photos, is also pictures of her sister, Thumper, who died about two years ago. Now they rest together in the backyard.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Happy Birthday, Diva!!!

My darling Diva (Genevieve) turned the big 1 on September 5th! We celebrated in Disneyland and she had an absolute blast. She got the day off from working. She mostly ran around the hotel room playing with her new toy. I think she had a supremely good day.

The next day she went to Disneyland and wore her button. She had A VERY good time at Goofy's Kitchen. The night before her birthday we went to Premium Seating of Fantasmic, where she got her own front row seat. I briefly considered asking the Cast Members there to sing "Happy Birthday" for her. LOL. There will be more on that in the trip report. There is even some YouTube videos!
